Professional installation of IdeaPaint and dry-erase wall coatings — turning any wall into a writable, erasable surface. Full surface preparation, specialist application, and a flawless finish.
Whiteboard walls replace traditional whiteboards with a seamless, writable surface applied directly to the wall. Instead of a framed board bolted to the wall, the entire surface becomes a dry-erase writing area — edge to edge, floor to ceiling if required. The result is a clean, modern aesthetic with significantly more usable writing space than any conventional whiteboard.
Eastern Supply & Building installs IdeaPaint and equivalent dry-erase wall coatings across offices, universities, schools, co-working spaces, meeting rooms and training facilities. We use the IdeaPaint CREATE product range — available in white and clear finishes — which is the leading dry-erase coating system on the market for durability, erasability and long-term performance.
This is not a paint-and-go job. Whiteboard wall coatings demand meticulous surface preparation — the finished surface is only as good as the wall beneath it. Every imperfection, bump, crack, or texture in the substrate will show through the final coating and affect writing and erasing performance. That is why we handle the full scope: wall assessment, surface repair, preparation, priming, and final application, rather than just applying the coating to whatever surface is presented.
The coating requires a 7-day cure period after application before the wall is usable. We factor this into every programme and make sure clients understand the timeline upfront — no surprises, no pressure to use the wall before it is ready.
We inspect every wall before quoting. We document existing defects — cracks, nail pops, uneven plaster, textured finishes, fixture points — and produce a condition report so the scope of preparation work is clear before any coating is ordered.
The wall is sanded back, defects are filled, and the surface is sanded again to achieve a smooth, even substrate. This is the most critical stage — the coating will magnify any imperfection left in the wall beneath it.
A manufacturer-specified primer is applied to seal the substrate and provide the correct base for the dry-erase coating. This is not a generic primer — it is the product specified by the coating manufacturer for adhesion and performance.
The IdeaPaint dry-erase coating is applied in controlled conditions. The coating is rolled to an even, consistent film thickness. The application environment needs to be clean, dust-free, and within the manufacturer's temperature and humidity range.
The coated wall is protected from contact, dust and damage during the 7-day cure period. The wall must not be written on, cleaned, or touched during this time. We advise on room access and protection measures to ensure the cure is not compromised.
After the cure period, the wall is ready for use. We provide care and maintenance guidance — recommended marker types, cleaning methods, and how to maintain erasability over the long term. A 12-month workmanship and substrate warranty is included.
